My previous book, Harvest of Despair: Unearthing the Ukrainian Holodomor told of a devastating chapter in human history that deserves thorough examination and understanding of the forced famine that took place between 1932 and 1933 wherein 7 million Ukrainians died of starvation at the hands of Joseph Stalin of Russia. I acknowledged my Mother’s Ukrainian family from Galacia, Western Ukraine who fled Ukraine in 1931, 1 year before the Holodomor.

This book is an attempt at portraying the continuing plight of the steadfast Ukrainians taking place from the Holodomor up until the present (2024) which includes Russia’s takeover of Crimea and the current battle for the life of the state of Ukraine. This book is a semi-fictional / historical book which enables an easier read than a complete historical record. I do hope you find this book both enlightening but more importantly understand the continued struggle of the Ukrainians.
